The Origins and Evolution of Feng Shui
In simple terms, Feng Shui is the study of the harmonious coexistence between humans and their natural environment. Feng Shui holds that the movements of celestial bodies, the features of the earth's surface, and the energies and information generated by all things can have positive or negative effects on a person's psychology and physiology, ultimately manifesting in different ways of thinking and behavior. Therefore, good Feng Shui can make people healthier, increase family prosperity, help you achieve more with less effort, and bring greater success in wealth and career; whereas poor Feng Shui can hold people back, make them more prone to illness, impair judgment, and lead to family breakdown or career obstacles. Feng Shui is a practical technique that originated in Chinese traditional culture and has a history of at least three thousand years.
Research shows that factors like lighting, color, and spatial organization can affect concentration and emotional balance. These findings echo Feng Shui’s long-standing emphasis on harmony, balance, and the flow of energy, or Qi. From a psychological perspective, Feng Shui can also helping people become more aware of their surroundings and intentional about the spaces they create.
